The July school holidays are a fantastic opportunity for families across NZ to enjoy the great outdoors. With winter in full swing, it’s the perfect time to explore various winter holiday programmes available in Auckland. At Social Nature Movement, we believe that engaging in outdoor activities not only keeps kids active but also helps them connect with nature. 5 Days Camping Itinerary Itinerary Itinerary
Day – 1 & 2: Ski or snowboard 2 days – outsourced
Participants progress at least one ability level by demonstrating controlled stopping, turning, and safe slope awareness under instruction.
Day – 3: Igloo/snow-mound (not audited)
Participants plan, build, and occupy a functional snow shelter while demonstrating safe tool use and ventilation awareness.
Day – 4: Mountaineer: axe, crampon, avalanche stuff, build slide
Participants demonstrate safe movement on steep snow/ice using basic mountaineering techniques and hazard recognition.
Day – 5: Toboggan and skibike / summiteering
Participants demonstrate controlled speed management and safe decision-making while sharing space with others in a snow-play setting.

Who will be my guide / instructor / teacher?
We select the best staff for the job based on their skills, knolwedge and experiences. They will be an SNM staff member or we will bring in support from equally competent contractors. Sometimes we also bring in (semi)celebrity guests!
